Public Health Engineer
Global Reach Staffing Solutions have an exciting opportunities for a Public Health Engineer, Working alongside the Project Leader, you will be facing clients, responding to our clients’ needs, developing designs and producing reports, specifications and guidance or overseeing testing and commissioning activities. our client work closely as a team to ensure we achieve the best results and deliver a consistent high-quality service for their clients.
Role Purpose
• To undertake all aspects of Public Health design, acting as project lead or support as appropriate working on a range of projects across all sectors. To liaise internally and externally with colleagues and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
Working as part of a team of public health engineers
Designing above ground drainage systems, below ground drainage and hot/ cold water services tocurrent Building Regulation and British Standards
Developing reports and calculations gaining all required approvals
Surveying existing systems where required
Externally coordinating with other practices, architects, structural engineers and other professionals
Taking a lead role on client liaison
Dealing with people at all levels across the offices
Requirements
Person Specification
Experienced/ qualified to at least HNC level or equivalent
Strong client facing/ interpersonal skills
Flexible in approach and be able to work across a number of projects at one time
Strong technical knowledge in the relevant and applicable UK regulations, design guides, etc
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
Able to effectively delegate and manage work packages to engineers and REVIT/CAD staff
Ability and commitment to effectively deliver to demanding timescales
An understanding of conditions of contract
Good understanding of secondary discipline (desirable)
Able to work under own initiative handling large and complex projects from inception to completion(desirable)
A holistic approach to delivering a building design (desirable)
An appreciation of fee cost control and resource planning (desirable)
Able to develop effective client and fellow professional relationships for future business growth
